Boston, MA

Property Type: Urban Innovation Campus

Size: 695,000 SF on 16.5 acres

In 2017, Nordblom purchased 135 Morrissey Boulevard (the former Boston Globe headquarters), a 695,000 SF building on 16.5 acres. Working closely with the neighbors and BPDA, Nordblom plans to bring the vacant property ‘back to life’ as an urban innovation campus and new center for creativity, vibrancy, and ingenuity.

Renamed ‘The BEAT’ (The Boston Exchange for Accelerated Technology), to pay homage to the ‘beat’ reporters who wrote at the Globe ‘s Dorchester location for more than 60 years, Nordblom will rejuvenate and reconfigure the iconic building’s existing footprint. Building amenities will include a fitness center and food hall along with a possible brew pub.
